Excursion Tour Introduction

We will visit Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park to journey into the heart of Ainu culture.
For lunch, we will serve a set meal featuring Shiraoi Wagyu beef.
In the afternoon, we will visit renewable energy facilities related to the conference theme and explore the local area, before enjoying some souvenir shopping.
Advance registration and payment of additional fees are required. Details will be provided during your registration for ASCON-IEEChE 2026.

Schedule

• 9:00: Depart from Hokkaido University
• 10:30-12:30: Upopoy National Ainu Museum and Park
• 12:45-13:45: TOKUJU FARM “WAGYU” grilled barbecue restaurant [Lunch]
  In the afternoon, we have a technical tour scheduled at a facility in Tomakomai.
  Additionally, we plan to take breaks and do some shopping at locations such as the roadside station at Lake Utonai.
  SPARX Tomakomai Green Hydrogen Production Plant (planned)
  Tomakomai Lake Utonai（Michi-no-Eki） (planned)
• 18:00: Tour ends at Hokkaido University

Buffet-style, with several vegetarian menus, and all-you-can-drink for 2 hours. ASCON-IEEChE 2026 participation fee includes one banquet ticket.
ASCON-IEEChE 2026 participants can add a ticket for his/her accompanying person.

Sapporo Weather (Mid to Late October)

Temperature

• Daytime high temperatures are typically around 10-15℃(50-59℉), but pleasant, warm days become less common.
• Mornings and evenings are much colder, with low temperatures dropping to around 5℃ (41℉), and sometimes even near freezing (0℃ / 32℉).

Weather Conditions

• While there are still clear autumn days, cloudy and rainy days become more frequent.
• Special Note: There is a possibility of the first snowfall of the season in the city, especially in late October. The mountains may already be covered in snow.
